The mammogram is an essential screening tool that a woman can have to help ensure her personal health. The mammogram is the best way to detect breast cancer in it’s earliest, most treatable stages. *And yet, nearly 80% of women age 50 and older do not adhere to the recommended guidelines of a mammogram every two years… [*per US Government Health Department statistics] WHY?...There are a variety of reasons. Research and case studies document in clinical literature that discomfort prevents women from having the exam. During the mammogram procedure, the breast is compressed by a dedicated mammography machine to even out the tissue, increase image quality and hold the breast still. This combined with the cold surface, pressure on the ribs and pulling on the skin can make this necessary exam uncomfortable and even painful for women.

[ATTACHMENTS] How is this possible? In a nutshell; the MammoPad provides a warm surface between the patient and the image receptor, relaxing the patient’s pectoral muscle. This allows the technologists to obtain more of the chest wall in the image and ensures even compression of the breast. The cushion’s grip like surface holds breast tissue in place to ensure optimal positioning. The MammoPad cushion also lowers anxiety and gives patients a softer, more comfortable experience.
