The Skilled Nursing Unit is designed for
transitional care for patients with special needs, particularly
rehabilitation. Many need to regain strength or remaster activities
of daily living before returning to independent living. Others
need conditioning before transfer to a nursing home.
Appropriate patients include:
• Post-operative
• Post-stroke
• Post ventilator-dependent
• Geriatrics
A multidisciplinary team of nurses, activities specialist,
physical therapists and dieticians works with the doctor to
help patients achieve optimum goals.
